Nominated Students

You've been nominated by your home institution for our exchange program!

The next step is to apply to Rice University as an exchange student. Upon nomination, your home institution will provide the link to our online application.

  • TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo results

  • Color Copy of Valid Passport Identification Page
  • Faculty Recommendation
  • Home Institution’s Program Approval

English Language Requirement

If the language of instruction in the student's country of origin is not English, the student must submit an English language test score to demonstrate proficiency - even if the language of instruction at the partner university is English.

  • Minimum acceptable TOEFL iBT score: 100
  • TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition also acceptable
  • Minimum acceptable IELTS score: 7
  • Minimum acceptable Duolingo score: 130
