What's in our Study Abroad Library?
If you want to know what you'll find in the library before clicking the link above, take a look below for more information about what each folder in our library contains!
Note: this is in alphabetical order.
- Boarding Pass to Study Abroad
-
In this folder, you'll find recordings and slides from sessions we have run and typically run in our Boarding Pass to Study Abroad information session series. If you are unable to attend a session or prefer accessing the information online, you can check out the items in this folder.
Building Blocks covers the basics, Exchange Programs contains information specific to our exchange options, In my Major covers study abroad information relevant to each school and some majors, Personal Perspectives information relevant to certain identities abroad, and Program Options are sessions led by some of our program representatives for both providers and direct enrollment options.
- By Students for Students
-
Here you can find some resources created by students that went abroad as well as exchange students that want to share more about their universities!
- Exchange Program Fact Sheets
-
Find information specific to exchange program options! Exchanges are bilateral agreements established between Rice and foreign universities that allow Rice students to study at an overseas partner university while students from the partner university study at Rice. Students participating in an exchange program must be nominated by the Rice Study Abroad Office. Exchanges are only options for the semester and if you wish to attend one of our exchanges, you are only able to go through the exchange partnership. Keep in mind exchange options require more independence and if you are interested in an exchange, pay close attention to the deadline in our application portal since deadlines can be early.
A fact sheet is a document with information from a university that covers general information such as semester dates, course selection, application process and requirements, and useful links.
- Program- & University- Specific Resources
-
Check out resources that have been shared directly with us for students by different universities abroad!
- Student Contact Info Resources
-
Connect with students! Here you'll find contact information for Rice students that have studied abroad in the past. Some resources in this folder are specific to groups such as engineers or FGLI students.
*Note: this information must be updated each year so the email addresses that are non-Rice addresses will always work, but for any current student information, they may still need updating. Information will be updated for the 2024-25 school year by the end of August 2024.
- Study Abroad Program Evaluations
-
Find evaluations here by study abroad alumni! Please keep in mind that not all students that have gone abroad allow us to share their responses so not all programs will be represented here, but it may still be helpful if you're considering a specific program type or location to get a bit of insight.
